Chris has been following Jesus for 30 years and God has given him a heart for helping the poor through business. He is a start-up entrepreneur and has trained as a business coach.
Chris has been married to Rosie since June 2021. They live in Cambridge, and together they love walking their dog Pepper. Chris enjoys various other activities from playing the piano and five-a-side football, to watching films and playing underwater hockey!
Chris' first business was started in Rwanda in 2004, and is still going. Cards from Africa https://www.cardsfromafrica.co.uk/ was started to create dignifying employment for orphaned young adults in Rwanda. They make their own paper from recycled office waste and turn it into greeting cards sold in shops all over the world, including 560 Oxfam shops.
Since then he has started 13 other businesses and currently runs two of them - one in property development and rental, and one in business coaching for individuals and teams.
Chris loves bringing people together to fulfil what God is calling them to do, especially in the area of business and church startup/growth! One of the things we do in Business Link is walk alongside entrepreneurs who through their business are helping the church grow.
Some folk in BL, working in pairs, provide a supportive service in the way of mentoring and coaching to business and church planters such as Nilesh in Japan, Gift in Zambia, Srdan in Serbia and the Butchers in Bolivia. Sometimes this is coupled with loans given from the Seed Fund, which is also empowering and deeply encouraging learning of God at work through business start-ups.
